Halton Curve Business Case

11th May 2015

NCRUG have spoken with Merseytravel who advise that the outline business case will be published on its website on Tuesday 12th May.  This will give opportunity for interested parties to see the preferred option proposed and offer their support/feedback ahead of a full business case being completed during June which will then be put forward for political approval by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

The publication will refer to the progression of a preferred option which is focussed on completion of the infrastructure on the basis of 1 tph Liverpool Lime Street to Chester including stops at Frodsham and Helsby.

Merseytravel have solicited our engagement in the development of this scheme. We have assured them that NCRUG will co-operate fully in this regard.  We must stress the importance of getting a service over the line in the first instance even though this does not meet our complete aspirations, such as services to Wrexham and North Wales Coast.  These, hopefully, will follow.
