Mother's Day

6th March 2016

On Sunday 6th March, Mothers Day, it was  possible to ride over "Halton Curve" twice in a day - a treat not possible for over twenty five years.

The "Northern Belle" luxury train set out from Chester via Halton Curve (Frodsham Junct. passed at 11.10) then Liverpool Lime Street (reverse) further progress via Stafford and the outskirts of Wolverhampton and the return via Telford/Wrexham (around the Wrekin?) to call again at Chester then retrace its steps once more over the Halton Curve (Frodsham Junct. passed at 16.15) and back to Liverpool Lime Street,

The photographs above by Mark Barber illustrate the passage of the excursion - the extensive  infrastructure work undertaken can be seen around the train.

We await information on just when the required point work for a service to commence will be installed?
