Pathfinder Tours

30th January 2016

Pathfinder Tours operated a Railtour over our local lines on Saturday 30th January 2016 ....

The itinerary from was Crewe - Acton Grange Junction - Wallton Old Junction - Latchford Football Field Siding (Warrington) - Walton Old Junction -  Runcorn East - Helsby Junction - Ellesmere Port - Mainsty Wharf Branch( Peel Ports) -  Helsby Junction - Frodsham Junction ( Halton Curve) - Halton Junction - Folly Lane Branch (Runcorn ) - Acton bridge ( up slow) - Hartford CLC Junct. - Northwich West Junc. - Middlewich - Crewe.

This tour was interesting as it was the first passenger train to enter Mainsty Wharf Branch (Peel Ports).

The tour organisers made a donation to Peel Ports charity as a thank you for their efforts which enabled the tour to progress beyond the motorway viaduct at Ellesmere Port.

The tour also ran over the Halton Curve and some views of the work recently undertaken are included.

These show the drainage work completed and additional spot sleeping has taken place.
